Icknield Farm - Oxfordshire

Anaerobic digestion is a multi-stage process converting organic material into a number of products including methane. The methane can either be used to produce electricity and heat or can be further processed and injected into the National Gas Grid for use offsite. The organic material can be either waste product, for example from the farming or food industries, or purpose grown for the project.

Icknield Farm is a Gas to Grid anaerobic digestion plant in South Oxfordshire. The plant will generate sufficient energy to sustain the gas demand of around 1,600 homes. Gas injected into the grid is eligible for the RHI tariff and export gas price.

The deal was concluded by Slapton Power, an investee company of Ingenious Renewable Energy EIS.
